Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

Made an appointment for an annual car inspection, and I ended up waiting 3+ hours because “the inspector is late to come in” (it was 1pm on a Sunday). Then they told me my brakes were shot and I needed a $1000 repair. I went home, got under the car, checked the break pads out for myself, and they were completely fine—I probably had 20k more miles on them. Felt very scammy and dishonest—esp after I bought new tires here last year. Beware!

Today was maybe my 5th time going here and I’ve always been very satisfied with everything. Today Ashaunie took care of me and, like everyone else who I’ve worked with at this location, he was very helpful and friendly. I appreciate the way they keep you updated via text and phone, and it’s very easy to reach them when you call them for an update or for any reason. Prices are reasonable.

We just got our first ever oil change and set of 4 new tires. I’m so happy we went with Pep Boys! I made an appointment a couple days before and went on a Sunday. Whew they were busy but the service was great! I worked with Xavier - he was incredibly nice, patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through the process and paper work. At one point it got super busy but he was able to help me and another customer pretty much at the same time without any issues. A tip is to get in as early as possible! There’s a reason why they’re in high demand. :) thanks so much to Xavier and Pep Boys. I’ll be back !

Very disappointing experience. I waited almost 5 hours for a callback about tires I was told were in stock. After waiting all that time, they finally called and said the tires were not available. Poor communication and a complete waste of my time. If the tires weren’t available, I should have been informed right away instead of being left waiting for hours. “I would not recommend anyone come here.”

I visited this shop last year and only recently remembered the experience when I decided to inspect my brakes again. I originally came in to ask about replacing the rear brake pads on my Dodge Ram pickup. At the time, I had seen a website price of $250 for that service. During my visit, the employee assisting me — a short Hispanic man working at the front desk/service counter — said that my front brake pads should also be replaced. I had installed genuine Mopar front pads about two weeks earlier, so I declined that additional work. He offered to show me the condition of the brakes in the garage, but I chose not to proceed. After I declined the front brake service, I was then quoted $750 for the rear brake pad replacement. When I mentioned the website price, I was told that the in-person price was different from the online listing. A few days ago, while doing a tire rotation and removing the wheels myself, I observed that the front brake pads still appeared to have about half of their usable material remaining, more than a year later, and in my opinion they may continue to last for quite some time. This was my personal experience and opinion. Others may have different experience
